Livestock production

Letter July 03, 2014
Livestock production is decreasing by the day in Pakistan as compared to the other developing countries.

RAWALPINDI: A large variety of livestock are available to run errands, procure milk, meat, eggs and wool, thus allowing farmers to earn some extra income. One of the most important benefits of livestock production is the direct involvement of women in tending them. Mostly men are busy doing work in urban areas so their women keep livestock and earn extra money for themselves.

Unfortunately, livestock is not getting that importance that it deserves. Livestock production is decreasing by the day in Pakistan as compared to the other developing countries. The main reason behind that is a lack of awareness among rural people. Authorities and farming experts need to look into this decline.
