KARACHI: As the population is increasing by the day, there is an increased need to provide services. Transport has become a basic need of the people and every one seems to want to reach his/her destination faster than others. People have cars, bikes, rickshaws, taxis, buses and now, the Qingqi rickshaws. These types of rickshaws started in Lahore, were then introduced into the Malir area of Karachi but have now spread all over the city.
All kinds of technology has its boons and banes and so do Qingqi rickshaws. It may be convenient and affordable for a number of people but it causes the most debilitating kinds of traffic jams. These rickshaws may be a useful form of transport, but their use should be regulated in an appropriate way that prevents the roads from clogging up.
