ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police is doing a marvelous job to ensure the safety of the capital’s citizens. No matter how tough the weather is, the police officials perform their duties to perfection. Just few days ago, I saw two policemen standing in the rain with just a thin waterproof jacket at the Blue Area chowki. They could have easily sat inside their warm cabins but they preferred duty over comfort.
Though our perception about the police is usually negative, we need to support them for their excellent job. We are so busy criticising our hard working officials that we tend to disregard all the sacrifices they make. Our government needs to provide police officials with better gadgets and outfits (for extreme weather conditions) to ensure that their output is maximised. Also, the police structure needs to be re-hauled and their salaries need to be increased. This would also help them keep motivated.
