Not only our government schools but also a majority of our private schools are in the same boat.
LITHONIA, GEORGIA, US: Naveed Hussain, in his article “Obama’s step up for India” (November 2), very rightly pointed out the problem with our education system. Not only our government schools but also a majority of our private schools are in the same boat. I hope that organisations like Unesco, Unicef and World Bank (as he pointed out) understand what Hussain is saying and do something to improve the education system. Only organisations like them or individuals with influence can contribute to improve the system for I have no hope in the government.
After all, it is in the government’s interest to keep the population uneducated, so that they don’t turn around and question the actions and decisions of the government.
