Death race

Letter May 29, 2014
Even though overtaking is not allowed on bridges or narrow roads, drivers of public buses do not care about it.

KARACHI: The drivers of our public buses are seen not to attach any value to human life or safety. They drive their vehicles with recklessness, which results in loss of lives. Moreover, they drive at a startlingly high speed, which is not allowed on the city roads, take sudden turns risking the lives of passengers and they overtake other buses in a most dangerous manner.

Even though overtaking is not allowed on bridges or narrow roads, these drivers do not care about any such laws. When it comes to racing with another bus on the same route, the driver loses all sense of responsibility for the lives of the many passengers inside the bus.

These criminal activities by bus drivers must be stopped.
