The language of our national narrative treats Balochistan as a periphery region in the greater state.
LONDON: This is with reference to Ejaz Haider’s article “Immediate action needed in Balochistan” (November 2). The language of our national narrative treats Balochistan as a periphery region in the greater state. The rest of the nation proudly gloats about the resources that Balochistan has. While the areas that produce massive amounts of natural gas remain without good gas supplies, one has to ask who is the exploiter and who is exploited. There are genuine grievances amongst the Baloch people, and it is in the greater national interest to recognise and solve them rather than blaming everything on foreign designs and influence.
