The authorities concerned need to gear up and find alternative energy solutions on a priority basis
LAHORE: The shortage of compressed natural gas (CNG) has worsened in the past couple of months. There appears to be no relief for the already distressed citizens of Pakistan who are made to endure the harsh summer sun while waiting in long queues to get their car tanks filled.
What else can be expected from the decision to make CNG available for only two days? It is evident that the bad state of the economy has made it impossible for many people in the country to procure petrol, so they end up relying on the alternative, whose availability is not quite certain. Moreover, load-shedding also hinders the pumping of CNG at CNG stations, which causes further discomfort to consumers. Infinite queues not only hinder the traffic flow on busy streets but also cause precious time to be wasted, owing to which many people, travelling during the rush hour, get late for work and their educational institutions. This problem is not just causing physical and economic problems to the public, but is also leading to psychological issues among them.
As people are in a predicament, the authorities concerned need to gear up and find alternative energy solutions on a priority basis to get rid of the energy crisis.
