I advise Wapda to terminate bill distributors, entrust job of delivering the electricity bills to a courier service.
RAWALPINDI: The residents of Iqbal Town, Rawalpindi, have received their electricity bills for April 2014 with the issue date May 7, 2014, which is merely two days before the deadline of May 9, 2014.
These electricity bills of Batch No 12 were issued by the customer service officer of the Chandni Chowk Division, IESCO Rawalpindi.
It is generally observed that all the bill distributors of Wapda are in a habit of delivering electricity bills to the Wapda consumers just three or four days before due dates because all bill distributors take leaves for many days, often without bringing it to the knowledge of Wapda officers.
So, I advise Wapda to terminate all bill distributors and entrust the job of delivering the electricity bills to a courier service. It is probably the only way to rectify the complaints of Wapda consumers.
