The environmental degradation of Sindh will threaten the natural foundations of the province
ISLAMABAD: Like other parts of Pakistan, my home province, Sindh, is also facing the challenges of environmental degradation which, if left unchecked, will threaten the natural foundations of our province. Sadly, the present provincial rulers, who have been in power for the last six years, are repeating their past mistakes. The government has not charted out an economic path that should be fair, inclusive, transparent and sustainable. Oil, gas and other natural resources are being exploited, but nothing is being done to secure the future economic prosperity and welfare of directly affected communities.
The provincial government is requested to ensure proper management, conservation and sustainable utilisation of our natural resources, particularly the oil and gas sector in the province.
