The day every Afghan won

Letter April 11, 2014
On April 5, no one lost in Afghanistan; everyone was a winner, including all the candidates.

ZHOB: The Afghan election on April 5 brought a day of triumph for all Afghans. All the people of the war-torn country, including women, played their due part in the election with full zeal amidst the fear of terror.

On April 5, no one lost in Afghanistan; everyone was a winner, including all the candidates contesting among themselves and the voters casting their votes. This created a win-win situation for all those who participated in the election. It was a battle between democracy and militancy in which democracy and all the lovers of democracy won. Indeed, the ultimate winners were the Afghans who defied the Taliban.
