It seems that govt only listens to apologists of these militants and those who have stake in these talks going through
MARDAN: This is with reference to Madiha Afzal’s article “On talks and peace” (March 27). This was a good article. It is indeed amazing that overnight, with the coming of a new government, it has been claimed from the outset that public opinion is against a military operation against militants. I wonder which public do government officials talk about.
It seems that the government only listens to apologists of these militants and those who have a stake in these talks going through. Where does that leave the people of Fata — an area which we are treating like the British used to — a buffer zone, with dispensable people.
