It is hoped that the team will perform even better against Sri Lanka in the final.
KARACHI: Once again, the Pakistani cricket team showed that it has a lot of potential and all the ability to become the best team in the world. The national team completed its highest ever One-Day International run-chase to overcome Bangladesh’s 326-run target with three wickets in hand at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. In the process, it also made their place in the Asia Cup final as a strong contender.
The unpredictable nature of Pakistan cricket was on full display in their last group match as Bangladesh posted their record score against the defending champions. The performances of Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad and a calm inning by Fawad Alam were the highlights. The most heartening aspect of the win was that it came under nerve-wracking circumstances in front of a highly partisan home crowd. It is hoped that the team will perform even better against Sri Lanka in the final.
