India has a choice of having either a violent revolution (of the Maoist/Naxalite variety) or a peaceful one.

CHANDIGARH: In India, like most of the Third World, there is governance deficit. This deficit has to be filled by someone. If the politicians don’t do their jobs, someone else will do it. It is a matter of time before India sees a revolution. Parties like the Aam Aadmi Party may become agents of that revolution. India has a choice of having either a violent revolution (of the Maoist/Naxalite variety) or a peaceful one (of a different variety).

In 1975, as per a Time magazine report, Indira Gandhi had asked the then Indian Army chief to take over the administration, which he declined. A future army chief may choose differently.
