JAKARTA: This is apropos Kuldip Nayar’s article of March 3 titled “The expanding military sphere in India”. We in India have seen what happens when matters are left solely to politicians as they were during the 1962 war against China. What we lost in the 1962 war has not come back.
When Indian politicians are so inept and have their heads in the clouds, the Indian Army has to be straightforward in its views. It has so far not disobeyed its political bosses, but it has learnt to speak its mind out. What is wrong with that? I am sorry to say that Kuldip Nayar’s views are far too one-sided.
