Those making and enforcing the Afghan policy seemingly do not belong to the civilian government.
CHICAGO: This is with reference to your editorial titled “Regional realities” (February 12). One would hope that what the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, said would carry weight but past experience makes one sceptical.
In fact, what the prime minister says on such matters has also proved useless because those making and enforcing the Afghan policy seemingly do not belong to the civilian government.
