Help after retirement

Letter February 04, 2014
The government must intervene and compel the PSM’s management to give retired employees their due.

KARACHI: It is the wish of retired employees to pass the rest of their retired life peacefully, as a retired person’s vigour and energy are fast declining and

(s)he is often not able to brave through the fast growing cost of living in the absence of any steady earnings. Unfortunately, the Pakistan Steel Mill (PSM) has no pension scheme and the post retirement dues and benefits have become only a mirage for retired employees.

From the last one and half year, the Pakistan Steel management is not paying gratuity to staffers. The government must intervene and compel the PSM’s management to give retired employees their due.
