Pakistan was never abandoned at birth. It came into existence after a struggle by Quaid-i-Azam and his colleagues.
KARACHI: Nabila Cowasjee in her article “Pakistan — abandoned at birth” (October 20) makes, in my opinion, an incorrect claim. Pakistan was never abandoned at birth. It came into existence after a long struggle by Quaid-i-Azam and his colleagues. The reality is that after the death of Quaid-i-Azam and Liaquat Ali Khan, people who were at the helm of affairs never planned for Pakistan as seriously as was needed at the time. Unfortunately, even 64 years after independence, we still remain ‘abandoned’.
The masses were never given a chance by the rulers to rise. The problems of a common man kept multiplying with time and the rulers who ruled the country never seriously thought to solve the problems.
