ISLAMABAD: A military package is being offered by the US from 2010- 2016, which in other words means ‘we are here to fight till 2016’. America has a strong and a much larger economy, giving such an amount has no substantial affect on the US. We must realise one thing, the theater of war is our land.
The problem with the Afghan society is that their generations grew up in a lawless society. Now they cannot realise the importance of law in one’s life. So they continue to live in perpetual civil war. I fear, we are following their path and not realising the perils of this protracted ‘war on terror’. The dangerous aspect of this war is our civilians have been sucked in it. The more we stretch it, the more our society will adapt to lawlessness.
Our enemy has invaded us silently by keeping us in perpetual war. The US is pitting our own people against one. Our youth makes a major portion of our society and a large proportion of them are not properly educated. They make a soft target for the extremist, playing in the hands of our enemies, to boost their numerical strength. The sooner we get rid of this war, the better.
