ISLAMABAD: There is no denying the fact that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) plays a key role in promoting higher education throughout the country and that it is a key financier of a multitude of programmes of higher learning.
The government has reconstituted the search committee for the appointment of the chairperson of the HEC and the Islamabad High Court has told the HEC that it find a suitable candidate by February 12. It is hoped that the selection of the chairperson will be done purely on merit because the position is of utmost importance to the cause of education in the country.
