There was no proper checking at check posts, police, others were lax about allowing people to enter the province.
ISLAMABAD: Without proper check posts, there is simply no realistic way to establish security in Sindh and specifically its provincial capital, the commercial hub of the country, Karachi, which is burning and bleeding nowadays. There is no way to accurately assume the number of illegal migrants entering Sindh, and particularly, Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur. However, reliable reports suggest that every day, hundreds of both, documented and undocumented foreigners of different national origins, such as Biharis, Bengalis, Afghans, Sudanese, Somalis, etc. make entry into these big cities of the province.
Only the other day, when my younger brother who travelled from Islamabad to Sindh via bus, was utterly surprised to see that there was no proper checking at the check posts, the police personnel and others deployed there were seen to be lax about allowing people to enter the province. Is there anyone paying attention to this serious issue and directing the lax law enforcement agencies at the check posts to properly check the documents of those entering Sindh?
