Showing responsibility

Letter January 31, 2014
Sub judice cases should never be discussed in public forums. It is against the canons of justice and ethics.

LAHORE: I am not a lawyer but have had the good fortune of having obtained some education. Television channels, the media, politicians and lawyers are openly discussing the treason trial of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, as well as any other piece of news that allows them exposure. It is a drama that is staged every day, especially during the evening television prime time hours.

Sub judice cases should never be discussed in public forums. It is against the canons of justice and ethics.

If these sections of society are not showing responsibility, I believe that the courts should issue gag orders to allow a fair trial to all accused in Pakistan.
