NIDDERAU GERMANY: This is with reference to your editorial of January 5, “Maid murdered” (January 5). Contrary to what the editorial states, I believe that murders of maids are not that common, although they must, of course, be condemned.
What is more disturbing is how such maids and household help are treated. They seem to have unlimited working hours and work as long as the ‘masters’ wish. They are shouted at, often beaten up and mistreated in abundance. The tragedy is that many of those doing this pretend to be liberals.
