Is Bilawal our saviour?

Letter January 01, 2014
All I know is that at the end of the day, it will not matter who rules Pakistan.

HAVERHILL, MASSACHUSETTS, US: This is with reference to Saroop Ijaz’s article of December 31 “Staying Alive”. I believe this is the tragedy of poor Pakistanis that even educated people like Mr Ijaz refuse to understand the ground realities and speak the truth and rather mislead innocent people. Why doesn’t Mr Ijaz highlight the past 40-plus years during which the PPP inflicted great harm on Sindh? Is Sindh any different or more developed than the rest of the Pakistan? For most of those years, the PPP was led by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. Mr Ijaz seems to think that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is smarter, braver and more intelligent than those two and can make a difference to the PPP and the people of Sindh and Pakistan.

All I know is that at the end of the day, it will not matter who rules Pakistan. It will not have any positive impact on our lives or the lives of our children. I request Mr Ijaz to, at least, speak the truth and not mislead poor, innocent Pakistanis by painting Bilawal as a potential saviour.
