ISLAMABAD: There is widespread negligence with regard to the usage of drugs in Pakistan. Several medical stores in Pakistan are being operated by non-pharmacists, which is a violation of ICT Drug Rules 1989. A health official recently said that due to negligence on the part of the authorities, people who did not have basic knowledge of pharmacy were running drug stores.
The sad fact is that the most Pakistanis in this modern era are still backward towards their approach regarding health as most of the population is uneducated. They are unaware of the misuse of medicines and the side effects. Proper legislation must correct the situation.
