Urgent appeal to PM

Letter December 22, 2013
Federal Medical and Dental College, Islamabad requires funding on an urgent basis.

RAWALPINDI: I want to raise an important issue using the platform of these columns. Recently, a number of medical colleges including the Federal Medical and Dental College, Islamabad, were stopped by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council from admitting new students for the MBBS programme due to incomplete facilities and shortage of faculty. The college was set up two years ago and inaugurated by then prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and placed under the cabinet division.

The college required funding on an urgent basis, otherwise the future of the 100 students who are already enrolled in it will be at stake. We request Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice of this and resolve the matter so that the money that the students have spent and the time they have invested are not wasted.
