If issue is to get additional aircraft, why didn’t the airline instead focus on getting necessary spares for planes.
KARACHI: While PIA is spending millions of dollars on leasing additional aircraft, several planes that it already owns have been grounded for months for want of spares. If the issue is to get additional aircraft, then why didn’t the airline instead focus on getting the necessary spares for its planes instead of spending foreign exchange on an expensive leasing arrangement?
Also, why are contracts for crew flying Boeing 747s being renewed beyond the age of 60 years when the said aircraft is being utilised for less than 15 hours a month?
