If the money is used wisely, positive changes can be made and the economy can grow.
BANGALORE: With reference to Dr Pervez Tahir’s piece of November 27 “The dollar drone”, IMF loans and the strings attached with them are okay if the recipient nation knows how to use them wisely. India has borrowed heavily from the IMF but has used this money to give a spur to its economy in the late 1980s to bring it to where it is today. Blaming your banker for tough loan conditions is not too intelligent. If the money is used wisely, positive changes can be made and the economy can grow.
