I would like to know why the selection committee is not being asked to explain their team selection.
KARACHI: It is most irritating that all and sundry have turned Misbahul Haq into a punching bag. He is termed the cause of the batting failure of all batsmen who fail to score — as if Misbah has a magic wand, which makes the batsmen choose horrendous shots. One panel of experts on a sports talk show went to the extent of saying that if the young Indian cricketers currently shining bright as batsmen are put under Misbah’s captaincy, even they would all fail to perform. I think this is grossly unfair and displays the cross-eyed reasoning of this ‘punch Misbah’ group.
I would like to know why the selection committee is not being asked to explain their team selection. On what basis did they select Abdul Razzaq and Shoab Malik recently? On what basis was Junaid Khan dropped from the first three One-Day Internationals against South Africa in the UAE?
