TOPEKA, KANSAS, USA: This is with reference to Lars-Gunnar Wigemark’s article of November 21 “It’s all about education for all”. I want to thank the writer for writing such a heartwarming and thought-provoking article. I am from Mardan and a Pashtun like Malala, who has made us all very proud. It was amazing to watch this 11-year-old child write blogs and express her feeling for education.
Please accept my gratitude for choosing and bestowing the honour of the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought on this young girl who went through very horrific times. By conferring the European Parliament’s award to Malala, this prestigious award has also been bestowed on her countrymen and women, especially in her home town in Swat Valley. Thank you for helping the children in Khyber-Pakhtunhwa (K-P). Any progress in K-P also means the progress of Pakistan.
