Before greeting passengers, the flight stewards and air hostess were carrying out a body search of passengers.
JEDDAH: On October 19, I travelled from Islamabad to Jeddah through Saudi Airlines flight number SV727. As the flight was scheduled to leave for Jeddah at 6pm Pakistan time, all passengers were asked to board the aircraft at 5pm.
Usually, flight attendants greet passengers upon entering the aircraft and guide them to their allotted seats. But with this flight in particular, before greeting and assisting passengers, surprisingly, the flight stewards and air hostess were searching hand luggage and carrying out a body search of passengers. All these activities had already been carried out by Airport Security Force staff deputed at the Benazir International Airport in Islamabad. Can I ask someone from our security agencies the reason behind why foreigners lack confidence in our security procedures?
