QUETTA: This is with reference to the article by M Ziauddin “Who owns Pakistan?” (October 30). The most important fact is how the elite have succeeded in keeping hundreds of millions in bondage, exploited, humiliated and denigrated. And when the push came to shove, they even sacrificed more than half of Pakistan to protect their interest but we were led to believe that grotesque conspiracies were hatched by our enemies and that is why Pakistan broke up. All ideologies that were cunningly contrived and crafted were only a way to achieve the undisputed elitist aim of perpetuating their economic and political hegemony.
It is this deceptive narrative that has to be challenged and exposed. Why have these hapless millions upon millions been fooled for so long? The answer has to be found in the ruthless exploitation of religion by all to secure their interests. All policies of the state are a mere reflection of this end. I appreciate the ideas put forth in the article with the hope that this real and important issue will be discussed further.
