People want peace but that doesn’t mean they lose more innocent lives in the process.
ISLAMABAD: Bomb blasts that occurred in several major cities on October 10 have once again exposed the failure of the government’s machinery to pre-empt acts of terror. They have also laid hollow claims made in the past that the law-enforcement agencies were now on top of the situation and doing whatever they could to arrest those behind such misdeeds. Our elected leaders still think that negotiations should be carried out with those who are not willing to surrender. People want peace but that doesn’t mean they lose more innocent lives in the process. The government should enter into a dialogue with the Taliban only from a position of strength.
