Poor road planning

Letter October 08, 2013
I urge chief minister of Punjab to take notice of this mismanagement, alleviate the agony of Shama Road’s residents.

LAHORE: During the ongoing road expansion of the Shama Chowk in Lahore, the residents of the area are being severely affected by the poor planning done by the road development authorities. All day long till late into the night, there is a massive traffic jam around the road, effectively imprisoning the residents inside their homes. The labourers have also accidentally broken the old water line of the residents, giving rise to complete disorder in the area. It seems that the authorities concerned are least bothered by the misery of the area’s residents, as during the summer holidays, the work was halted and now, when the schools have reopened, the construction work has also restarted.

I urge the chief minister of Punjab to take notice of this mismanagement and alleviate the agony of Shama Road’s residents as soon as possible.
