KARACHI: This is apropos your editorial “Morality enforcers” (October 7). The party whose activists were allegedly involved in disrupting the musical programme at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, is well known for indulging in similar activities in the past. In the 1980s, its activists would thrash both male and female students at universities if the distance they kept between each other was less than 10 feet. For some reason, this party seems to believe that it is a heinous sin to indulge in activities that provide fun and relaxation. For them, listening to music, watching television or going to the movies should be banned because they divert the minds of people from the only thing worth doing (in their opinion), which is the practice of their twisted version of religion.
