How to tackle terrorism

Letter October 06, 2013
One can only hope that the government’s plan bears fruit else we will not see an end to the suicide bombings.

ISLAMABAD: Terrorism has gripped our entire nation and endangered the fate of our future generations. Everyone wants an end to this peril but differ on the approach to be used. The government has said that it is willing to enter into talks with the Taliban so that the menace of terrorism can be eradicated once and for all. This shows sincerity on the part of the government.

However, one doesn’t know what will be the outcome of this, given the general unpredictability of the TTP. Ordinary Pakistanis want peace and stability in the country but not at the cost of fulfillment of the demands of barbarians, who consider themselves above the law and the country’s Constitution. One can only hope that the government’s plan bears fruit else we will not see an end to the suicide bombings that seem to be a daily occurrence in Pakistan.
