PESHAWAR: Aamer Ahmed Khan’s article “Flirting with the Taliban” (October 10) made me realise that we will have to start thinking as a nation if we really want Pakistan to prosper. Our ‘strategic assets’ are proving to be heavy chains on our feet. Bangladesh, a Muslim majority nation, is one fine example — they don’t feel threatened by a “Hindu India”, so why do we? It’s time to put aside our irrational fear and dislike for India and become a responsible country in the region. Let Saarc be prosperous and be a part of it, in a positive way. Let’s get extremism of all kinds wiped out from our homeland.
