KARACHI: There is a looming danger in Modi’s rise to power. India will be torn apart at the altar of Modi’s vision. Will there be another war with Pakistan? Time will tell. For the time being, it should be obvious that the embers of Babri Masjid are still burning. Nawaz Sharif wants the best relationship with India. He rightly realises that that is the core issue of Pakistan’s survival. For this to happen the Congress party must prevail and they must win the next elections. How will this be achieved?
We are still in deep denial. Many of us- do not acknowledge that the criminals who carried out the Mumbai massacre and their sponsors originated in Pakistan. Unless we can admit this bitter fact, there can be no progress in our relationship with India. This is the key to unfreezing our relationship. Does Nawaz have the courage or will he succumb to the blackmail of Pakistani jingoists? I, for one, will bet against Nawaz Sharif; I will bet all the chips I have. This man is no leader, he will surrender.
