I agree with Khalid Munir’s analysis. In 2001, we had hardly any choice except for what we did at that point of time.

ISLAMABAD: I agree with Khalid Munir’s analysis. In 2001, we had hardly any choice except for what we did at that point of time. Democratic governments seldom have what it takes to withstand pressure from America. In fact, Pervez Musharraf has pointed out recently that Nawaz Sharif was in fact against the testing of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons in 1998, though he takes credit for that now. In that context, I appreciate the present government’s reaction to the recent uncalled for Nato incursions and engaging with the paramilitary border checkpost.
