Going too far

Letter October 09, 2010
Some things just don’t feel right in a comical sense and should not be made fun of.

KARACHI: I think Sami Shah goes a bit far in terms of humour in his article “Time and time again…” (October 6). Some things just don’t feel right in a comical sense and should not be made fun of.  One doesn’t talk about a nation’s death particularly when you belong to it. It isn’t funny. Admittedly, Pakistan has had its fair share of despots, from Ayub to Musharraf, but that doesn’t mean that the people of the country give up hope and stop believing in it.  Not even in jest should we be bestowing our love to these dictators.
