The government should implement a proper labour policy in the country and monitor private companies.
LAHORE: This is with reference to Ahmer Ashraf’s article “How much more can we take?” (October 7). Private limited companies in general pay their employees poorly or at the very least they don’t give as many perks and benefits as government-owned organisations. On the other hand, the government has increased salaries of government employees significantly and they are in a better position compared to private employees, even though many might not be as well qualified. The government should implement a proper labour policy in the country and at the same time it should monitor private companies to ensure that workers are being paid at least minimum wage.
