Overflowing gutters

Letter September 16, 2013
Students who travel by public transport cannot stand and wait for buses as the place is blocked.

KARACHI: A pedestrian bridge is located near Karachi’s NED University. The roads around the bridge are all filled up with the water from overflowing gutters. Two weeks have gone by this way and nothing has been done yet. The university students are facing several problems because of this; one can’t reach the bridge as it is surrounded by gutter water. Students who travel by public transport cannot stand and wait for buses as the place is blocked. Moreover, the gutter water is continuously flowing leading to the creation of green fungus in the area. I request the city government and administrative departments concerned to take serious action and resolve the problem as soon as possible.
