People may disagree but one doesn’t privatise national assets.
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA: PIA, at one time, used to be the second best airline in the world. Over the years, due to various corrupt governments, this institution started to fail. People may disagree but one doesn’t privatise national assets, as was done to the telecom sector during General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s era. People may say that the telecom sector is the largest money-making industry in Pakistan but all that comes at the cost of handing away national security. First privatise the PIA, then it will be the railways, the hospitals and clinics, transport and ultimately everything will be handed over to the private sector.
