The fact that criminal elements have political affiliations has been identified by the Supreme Court.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Interior Minister Chaudry Nisar’s press conference of August 28 on a possible targeted operation in Karachi under the supervision of the Sindh government, where he also stated that the federal government has identified the offenders and their sanctuaries. However, it cannot launch an operation against criminals as they have political affiliation and because of this what is required is consensus of all parties on an operation in Karachi.
The fact that criminal elements have political affiliations has been identified by the Supreme Court as well. Statements of the interior minister and the Supreme Court show undoubtedly that the tumult in Karachi is a creation of political parties in order to protect their own interests. It is a ‘gift’ of our own elected political leaders. One can only hope against hope for peace in Karachi with the presence of such leaders in our midst.
