ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to your report of August 23 titled “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi: Of cricket and heartwarming stereotypes” (August 23). The story and its headline tell us clearly that Main Hoon Shahid Afridi is quite stereotypical. Well, since it is a Humayun Saeed production in which he has acted as well, one cannot expect something non-stereotypical. Saeed’s last film, Main Aik Din Laut Kay Aoonga, was quite bizarre as well and was heavily inspired by Bollywood, and included the same senseless vulgar dance sequences that seem to be present in Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. I think Saeed should realise that he is not good enough to perform the role of the main character in films.
