Voltage fluctuation

Letter August 22, 2013
On Eid day, coils of the transformer located in our street burnt out due to these voltage fluctuations.

SHIKARPUR: In addition to regular power outages, the residents of some rural areas of Shikarpur, Sindh, have been facing severe voltage fluctuation for many weeks.

This has caused severe damage to electrical appliances. Recently, fluctuations caused my cell phone charger to burn out, while the refrigerator’s compressor makes erratic sounds, fans do not work properly and even energy savers are providing as much light as candles.

On Eid day, coils of the transformer located in our street burnt out due to these voltage fluctuations. Various complaints have been lodged with the local SEPCO office but they have fallen on deaf ears. I earnestly request the SEPCO to pay heed to our problems at the earliest.
