Youth policy

Letter October 07, 2010
Religious extremism as we see it today is a result of gradual indoctrination of religion into politics.

KARACHI: This is with reference to Tazeen Javed’s article “A critique of the national youth policy” (October 3). Religious extremism as we see it today is a result of gradual indoctrination of religion into politics. As we combat terrorism we must also try to give more space to liberal and progressive elements in Pakistan who are the educated, enlightened but marginalised. The youth policy needs and should focus on how the youth can be engaged in positive activities.
