Most people in Lollywood do not seem to have any formal training in acting, editing or dance.
SAN FRANCISCO: This is with reference to the story “If it weren’t for Ishq Khuda, Meera would’ve left filmdom” (August 19). I believe that Meera has outlived her presence in the film industry. Shaan is another actor who has been pretending to be the saviour of Lollywood while he and his cronies have kept churning out vulgar, masala, unimaginative films.
Most people in Lollywood do not seem to have any formal training in acting, editing or dance; in fact, they even seem to lack imagination. The good thing is that this trend now seems to be changing. Lollywood, till recently, was known as a sleazy entity, which talented men and women refused to be a part of. However, we now have talented, young, trained men and women, who are ushering in fresh, new faces, which is enabling Pakistan’s filmdom to be recognised as a fledgling, upcoming film industry. Therefore, Meera and company, and others of her ilk, need to make a graceful exit and let the new breed take over.
