HYDERABAD: This is apropos the story “Sikandar Hayat saga: Inquiry reveals multiple security agency failures” (August 18). It was the job of the police to overcome the lone desperado. Throwing blame for the fiasco left, right and centre will not absolve the police from failing to fulfil their responsibility. There was only one man and he should have been dealt with by the police as soon as possible. Any other force can come into play when the situation goes beyond the control of the first one.
