Droughts and floods are neither man-made nor controllable by man.
OOTY, INDIA: This is with regard to the story “India releases water into River Sutlej, worsens flood in nearby villages” (August 18). I do not know whether there is any flood-alert warning system in place during heavy rains from the Indian side so that people downstream can be prepared for any consequence. If there has been no system in place already, it is high time it was done. This should have nothing to do with border skirmishes and disputes. Droughts and floods are neither man-made nor controllable by man.
