The everyday frenzy at our Wagah border must end.
ISLAMABAD: At a time when our prime minister has decided to extend the olive branch to India, the everyday frenzy at our Wagah border must end. This absurd exercise is a complete waste of resources and shows the narrow mindset of the people, who decided to hold this event every day. People get amused by the circus, whereas emotions get played up. What is the use of all this? First of all, there is no need to hold such an event. If at all the hoisting or lowering of flags is required, it can be done in a simple and decent manner. I request the armed forces to revisit the whole policy and devise something more congenial, given the new belief in ironing out differences with our neighbours.
